The impact of offering Stream

Carlisle, a leading supplier of outsourced workforce solutions, has made a significant impact on employee financial wellbeing through its partnership with Stream. CEO Paul Evans and his team prioritise supporting their 4,750-strong workforce, ensuring they have the tools to thrive both professionally and personally.

"We have a real promise-based culture to try and do right, making sure that every decision we take as a business changes people's lives."

Since implementing Stream in May 2019, Carlisle has achieved remarkable results, with more than 50% of employees engaging with the platform. This initiative has helped alleviate financial stress and foster a culture of resilience.

"I used to take numerous calls from employees in distress. They'd say, 'The car's broken down,' or, 'I can't get the kids to school.' Stream has been transformative for addressing those issues."

Over five years, Carlisle’s employees have saved nearly £1 million in rainy day pots and accessed £16 million of their pay flexibly. Many have started saving for the first time, giving them a financial buffer for unforeseen challenges.

"It's great that people are using the platform to say, 'I know there's going to be a rainy day.' There's always a rainy day that will come at some point."

Paul shared a recent story from visiting a site, where a cleaning staff member highlighted the difference Stream has made compared to previous employers.

"Sharon said, 'The one best thing about Carlisle is Stream.'"

By addressing financial stress and empowering employees with greater control over their earnings, Carlisle continues to lead with a people-first approach, setting a benchmark for workforce wellbeing and engagement.
