This Notice at Collection of Personal Information and Privacy Policy for US Residents (“Policy”) describes the privacy practices of Stream Platforms, Inc. ("Stream," "we", “us” or "our") and how we handle personal information that we collect through http://stream.co/en-us, our mobile application and the services we provide  (collectively, “Services”).

Stream operates a financial wellness platform and contracts with Employers (“Clients”), either directly or indirectly through a partner, to enable employees of the Client to access their earned wages, track and save their wages and access independent financial education. Depending on how our Services are  provided, Stream may be a controller, processor or sub-processor.

This Policy applies to our collection of personal information (i.e. information that may identify, relate to, describe, references, is capable of being associated with or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you or your device).  This Policy applies to our Clients, users of our Services, website visitors, suppliers, contractors, and business partners.

Stream collects the personal information identified in the section below titled "The Types of Personal Information We May Collect from You" for the purposes identified in the section below titled "How We Use Your Personal Information”.

Streams retains such information for the period described in the section below titled "How Long Do We Store Personal Information".

We disclose personal information as described in the section below titled "How We Disclose Personal Information". 

We do not "sell" personal information for monetary consideration; however, the use of cookies and online tracking technologies may be considered a “sale” / “sharing” under certain US state privacy laws. Visitors to our US website can opt out of being tracked by these third parties by clicking on the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link, which can also be found at the bottom of our page or in our Cookie banner.

How Do We Collect Personal Information?


  • From you. We may collect personal information and other information that you provide when you communicate with us, register for our Services, select marketing preferences, register for promotions, or otherwise use our Services. 
  • From our Clients. We may collect personal information and other information our Clients provide to us about you, including payroll information, garnishments and other withholdings.  
  • From devices you use when you interact with us online. This includes information collected through our Services and automatically from devices you use to connect to our Services. For more information about this, please see our “Cookies and similar technologies” section below.  
  • From third parties and publicly available sources. This includes personal information we collect from public sources including, but not limited to websites that enable social sharing, social media sites, and from our service providers, vendors, our affiliates, or other individuals and businesses. 

The Types of Personal Information We May Collect From You


Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following information in conjunction with our Services:


  • Identity and Contact Information such as your name, home address, work address, email address, telephone number, or other similar identifiers. Such information is sourced directly from you when you use the Services. If your access to our Services is provided by a Client  that contracts us to provide the Services to their employees or other users, this type of data may be shared with us from the Client.
  • Biographic and Demographic Information such as date of birth, Social Security Number. Such information is sourced directly from you when you use the Services. Such information is sourced directly from you when you use the Services. If your access to our Services is provided by a Client that contracts us to provide the Services to their employees or other users, this type of data may be shared with us from the Client.
  • Financial and Payment Information such as debit card details, earnings and timecard information, gross and net pay, garnishments, bank account number, payment preferences. Such information is sourced directly from you when you use the Services. If your access to our Services is provided by a Client that contracts us to provide the Services to their employees or other users, this type of data may be shared with us from the Client.
  • Account Information such as a username and password for our Services, profile details you choose to provide, and feedback and reviews you may leave our Services. Such information is sourced directly from you when you use the Services.
  • Audio, electronic, visual, or similar information, such as a profile photograph. Such information is sourced directly from you when you use the Services.
  • Internet Usage Information such as geolocation, IP address, interactions with our marketing materials, and any other Internet usage information our Services may automatically record when you visit.  Such information is sourced indirectly from you when you use the Services.
  • Device information such as browser or device model and settings, operating system, and unique identifiers. Such information is sourced indirectly from you when you use the Services.
  • Other Personal Information you provide during your communications with us, including interactions with us online, in-person, or on the phone. Such information is sourced directly from you when you use the Services.
  • Professional Information such as employer and employment status, and any other information that may be obtained from background checks, and feedback. Such information is sourced directly from you or from third parties.

Inferences drawn from any of the information listed above to create a profile about an individual reflecting the individual’s preferences, characteristics or trends.

How We Use Your Personal Information 


We may use your information for the following reasons, depending on your relationship with us:


  • To communicate with you, such as when we respond to your inquiries and send you communications, such as those regarding our products, services, promotions, events and other news and information we think will be of interest to you. If we send you a marketing email, it will include instructions on how to unsubscribe from these emails in the future. 
  • To provide, market, and develop our products and services, including to provide our Services, maintain our websites, troubleshoot, provide customer and technical support, and conduct data analysis, test and research, and better understand the interests of our users who use our Services and products. 
  • To facilitate wage payments and enable users to voluntarily access their third-party products such as any savings accounts you wish to link to our Services.
  • To understand how you interact with our Services and personalize the product experience and content (including advertising and messaging campaigns).
  • To maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our Services, for example by authenticating users and providing account security and fraud detection. We may also use your information to monitor, detect, and prevent fraud and improper or illegal activity.
  • To send you news and/or marketing communications (by email, phone, or text) subject to your marketing preferences and choices, including information about us or third-party offerings we think may be of interest to you.
  • To market and advertise, including through direct marketing and interest-based advertising.
  • To conduct market research and develop quality assurance, including to study, develop, and improve our products and services. We may also aggregate, anonymize, and/or de-identify personal information we collect and use it for any business purpose, including product development and improvement activities. 
  • To comply with legal requirements and/or to investigate or address claims or disputes relating to your use of the Services. This would include the use of your information to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, to defend ourselves in litigation and investigations, and to prosecute litigations.
  • To enforce the terms and conditions that govern our Services.
  • To conduct internal business purposes, including for data analysis, audits, and enhancing our services. We may also use inferences drawn from personal information to create a profile reflecting your preferences so we can tailor our Services to you.


We may also use your information with your consent, and will specifically ask in these instances for your consent to collect, use or share your personal information, such as when required by law.  

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose information collected from or about you with any of the following entities and for any of the following purposes: 


  • AffiliatesOur corporate parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates, for purposes consistent with this Policy.
  • Clients. We may provide personal information to relevant Clients from which we obtained the information, and with parties the Client directs us to disclose this information. Further, for quality control purposes, we may share support inquiries with relevant Clients to ensure resolution of your support ticket. 
  • Service Providers and Advertising Partners. We may provide personal information to vendors, payment processors, contractors, banking partners, search engine providers, business and service partners, or other third parties, such as advertising partners who provide services to us including analysis firms, advertisers, and others.  
  • Government, regulatory, or law enforcement agencies. We reserve the right to disclose your information to respond to valid information requests from government authorities and judicial requests, to investigate potential fraud, or where otherwise required by law. We may disclose your personal information where we believe the disclosure is necessary or appropriate to comply with regulatory or legal requirements or to protect the safety, rights, or property of ourselves and others and to exercise, establish, or defend our legal rights. 
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or business transfer. If we sell all or a part of our company, are part of a merger, consolidation, restructuring, sale of company stock, and/or sale of assets or other corporate change, your information may be transferred.
  • At your direction. We may disclose your personal information at your direction or with your consent. 
  • Business partners. We may share personal information with business partners with whom we jointly develop or promote our services, including sponsorships and co-branded opportunities and promotions.
  • Aggregate Data. We may share your personal information in an aggregated or non-identifying form or otherwise in a form that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Categories of personal information disclosed that may be considered “sale” / “sharing”: Identity and Contact Information, Biographic and Demographic Information, Audio, electronic, visual, or similar information, Internet Usage Information, Device information, Other Personal Information you provide during your communications with us, Professional Information, Inferences.

Categories of third parties to whom personal information was disclosed that may be considered “sale”/ “sharing” include advertisers and marketing partners, social media providers and data analytics providers. 

Nevada consumers have the right to submit a verified request that we do not sell Nevada consumer's covered information. We do not sell any covered information as defined in the Nevada Internet Privacy Law.

How Long Do We Store Personal Information?

We may retain your personal information for a period of time consistent with the original purpose of collection or as long as required to fulfil our legal obligations. We determine the appropriate retention period for personal information on the basis of the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information being processed, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of the personal information, whether we can achieve the purposes of the processing through other means, and on the basis of applicable legal requirements (such as applicable statutes of limitation).

In certain circumstances, we will need to keep your information for legal reasons after our contractual relationship has ended and/or your account has been deleted. The specific retention periods depend on the nature of the information and why it is collected and processed and the nature of the legal requirement. For example, to deal with and resolve requests and complaints, and for litigation or regulatory matters where we would retain your information if there was an ongoing legal claim and the information was relevant to the claim. This information would be retained until the legal claim had been concluded.

After expiry of the applicable retention periods, your personal information will be deleted. If there is any data that we are unable, for technical reasons, to delete entirely from our systems, we will implement appropriate measures to prevent any further use of such information.

Children's Privacy

You must be 14 years or older to use our Services. Our Services are for a general audience, are not targeted to children, and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 years of age. If you are a child under 14, please do not attempt to send any personal data about yourself to us. If you believe that your child under the age of 14 has submitted personal data to us in connection with our Services, please contact us to privacy@stream.co so that we may take steps to delete such information, in accordance with applicable laws.

If you are a resident of California under the age of 18 and a registered user of our website, you may ask us to remove content or data that you have posted to the website by writing to privacy@stream.co. Please note that your request does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or data, as, for example, some of your content or data may have been reposted by another user.

Links to Third Party Websites

We may provide links to websites and other third-party content (e.g., social media platforms) that are not owned or operated by us. The websites and third-party content to which we link may have separate privacy notices or policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these websites. 

If you provide any personal information through a third-party site, your interaction and your personal information will be collected by and controlled by the privacy policy of that third party site. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the privacy policies and practices of any such third parties, which are not governed by this Privacy Policy.

Advertising and Opt-Out Disclosures 

When you use our Services, our third-party advertising partners, social media providers and analytics providers may collect personal information about your online activity on our Services and on third party websites. 

These providers may set web tracking tools (e.g., cookies and web beacons, as discussed further below) to collect information regarding your online activity. In addition, our advertising partners may use this information to deliver advertisements to you when you visit third party websites within their networks. If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices with respect to it, please either visit the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page (currently available at https://optout.aboutads) or the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page (currently available at https://thenai.org). Please note that you may continue to receive generic ads that are not based on your preferences.


Information Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, personnel, and physical measures designed to safeguard information in our possession against loss, theft and unauthorized use, disclosure, or modification. However, the confidentiality of information transmitted over the Internet cannot be guaranteed. We urge you to exercise caution when transmitting personal information over the internet. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not gain access to your information; therefore, when submitting personal information to us, you do so at your own risk.

Cookies and Similar Technology

We and our partners use various tools to collect data when you visit our sites and apps, including cookies, pixels, local storage, and other similar technologies.  Some of these technologies store data in the browser or on your device. Other technologies may use network-related or other information to recognize your device (e.g., IP address).  Our Services use these technologies, for example, when you first request a web page and data is then stored on your computer or other device so the website or mobile application can access personal information when you make subsequent requests for pages from that Service.  These technologies may also be used to collect and store information about your usage of the Services, such as pages you have visited, other content you viewed, and search history.

We and our partners may use also use these technologies to gather personal information about how you view and use our Services and content, and to connect your activity with other data we store about you.  We and our partners may collect your personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the Services.  The use of these technologies helps us serve you better by understanding what you're interested in, tracking trends, measuring the effectiveness of ads, saving your preferences, and storing information you may want to retrieve on a regular basis.  We also allow specific, approved partners to collect data from your browser or device for advertising and measurement purposes using their own similar tools.

Your web browser can be set to allow you to control these technologies, such as whether you will accept cookies, reject cookies, or to notify you each time a cookie is sent to your browser. If your browser is set to reject cookies, websites that are cookie-enabled will not recognize you when you return to the website, and some website functionality may be lost. Also, certain versions of the Android operating system allow you to “Opt-out of Ads Personalization” in the system settings. Options you select are browser and device specific.

Some browsers permit the user to send a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) preference to websites that the user visits indicating that the user does not wish to be tracked over time and across websites. You may opt out by broadcasting an Opt-Out Preference Signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) (on the browsers and/or browser extensions that support such a signal). Your Marketing Preferences

We may periodically send promotional materials or notifications related to our Services. If you no longer wish to receive promotional marketing materials from us, you may opt-out of receiving such materials. You may unsubscribe from receiving marketing or other commercial emails from us by following the instructions included in the email. You may unsubscribe from text messages you previously consented to by following the prompt provided on our messages. We will work to comply with your request promptly.

There are certain service notification and other non-promotional emails that you may not opt-out of, such as notifications of changes to the Services or policies.

Privacy Rights Requests

Consistent with applicable state laws, you may exercise the rights described in this section. Some of the rights described below may vary depending on your state of residence. 

  1. Right to Receive Information on Privacy Practices: You have the right to receive the following information:
  • The categories of personal information to be collected;
  • The purposes for which the categories of personal information are collected or used;
  • Whether or not that personal information is sold or shared;
  • If we collect sensitive personal information, the categories of sensitive personal information to be collected, the purposes for which it is collected or used, and whether that information is sold or shared; and
  • The length of time we intend to retain each category of personal information, or if that is not possible, the criteria used to determine that period.
  1. Right to Delete: You may request that we delete any personal information about you that we collected from you.
  2. Right to Correct: You may request that we correct any inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  3. Right to Know: You may request that we provide you with the following information about how we have handled your personal information:
  • The categories of personal information we collected about you;
  • The categories of sources from which we collected such personal information;
  • The business or commercial purpose for collecting personal information about you;
  • The categories of personal information about you that we shared or disclosed and the categories of third parties with whom we shared or disclosed such personal information; and
  • The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  1. Right to Receive Information About Onward Disclosures: You may request that we disclose to you:
  • The categories of personal information that we have collected about you;
  • The categories of personal information that we have sold or shared about you and the categories of third parties to whom the personal information was sold or shared; and
  • The categories of personal information we have disclosed about you for a business purpose and the categories of persons to whom it was disclosed for a business purpose.
  1. Right to Non-Discrimination: You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your data subject rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your data subject rights.
  2. Right to Opt-Out of the Sale and Sharing of Personal Information: If we sell or share your personal information to or with third parties, you have the right, at any time, to direct us not to sell or share your personal information. As mentioned above, we do not "sell" personal information for monetary consideration; however, the use of cookies and online tracking technologies may be considered a “sale” / “sharing” under certain US state privacy laws. You can opt out of such cookies and online tracking technologies as described in our Cookies and Similar Technology above. We do not have actual knowledge about any selling or sharing of personal information of minors under 16 years of age without affirmative authorization.
  3. Right to Limit the Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect or process sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. Some of the purposes for the collection and processing of sensitive personal information allowed by law include: to perform the services or provide the goods reasonably expected; to prevent, detect, and investigate security incidents; to resist malicious, deceptive fraudulent, or illegal actions directed at us and to prosecute those responsible for those actions; to ensure the physical safety of natural persons; for short-term, transient use; to perform services on behalf of Stream; and to verify or maintain the quality or safety of a product or service provided by Stream. Therefore, Stream does not offer the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.  

Under California law, we do not provide financial incentives to individuals who allow us to collect, retain, or use their personal information. We will describe such programs to you if and when we offer them to you.

Submitting a Privacy Rights Request

To exercise any of these rights, please complete the Data Rights Request Form. You may also authorize an agent to make data subject requests on your behalf. In such instances, authorized agents may use the same methods as you to submit the requests on your behalf. When you submit a data subject request, please indicate the type of request you are making, so that we may properly process and respond to your request in accordance with applicable law.

Depending on the type of data subject request you submit, we may ask you to provide information that will enable us to verify your identity before complying with the request. We verify requests carefully and in accordance with applicable law. In particular, if you authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf, we may require the agent to provide proof of signed permission from you to submit the request, or we may require you to verify your own identity to us or confirm with us that you provided the agent with permission to submit the request. In some instances, we may decline to honor your request if an exception applies under applicable law. We will respond to your request consistent with applicable law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your data subject rights. For example, we will not deny goods or services to you, or charge you different prices or rates, or provide a different level of quality for products or services as a result of you exercising your privacy rights.

Appealing Requests

Depending on your state of residence in the U.S., you may be able to appeal our decision to your request regarding your personal information. To do so, please contact us at privacy@stream.co. We respond to all appeal requests as soon as we reasonably can, and no later than legally required.


California Shine the Light Disclosure

Under California’s Shine the Light law (California Civil Code Section 1798.83), California residents may ask companies with whom they have formed a business relationship primarily for personal, family or household purposes to provide the names of third parties to which they have disclosed certain personal information (as defined under the Shine the Light law) during the preceding calendar year for their own direct marketing purposes and the categories of personal information disclosed.  You may send us requests for this information to privacy@stream.co.  In your request, you must include the statement “Shine the Light Request," and provide your first and last name and mailing address and certify that you are a California resident. We reserve the right to require additional information to confirm your identity and California residency.  Please note that we will not accept requests via telephone, mail, or facsimile, and we are not responsible for notices that are not labeled or sent properly, or that do not have complete information.

Changes to this Privacy Policy 

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any modifications to this Privacy Policy will be effective upon our posting the modified version (or as otherwise indicated at the time of posting). In all cases, your use of the Services after the effective date of any modified Privacy Policy indicates your acceptance of the modified Privacy Policy.
